R&D Developer (AI)

Location: Shanghai, China; office-based

Company

Develop innovative prototypes and production-ready technologies for hirify.global’s game development teams through La Forge, a research and development group connecting academic research with video game production.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and integrate machine learning prototypes in game engines and middleware.
• Work closely with R&D Scientists during prototype creation.
• Transform proof-of-concepts and prototypes into minimum viable products.
• Collaborate with game and technology teams to release robust, documented, complete, and performant production-ready solutions.
• Develop and maintain tools and infrastructure that support research and collaboration.
• Standardize processes, frameworks, libraries, and best practices across the team.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with TensorFlow and PyTorch, including demonstrated experience implementing neural networks and translating research prototypes into practical production solutions.
• Previous experience or knowledge in real-time computer graphics or a related area.
• Previous software development experience and a solid understanding of software engineering best practices.
• Curiosity, critical thinking, and a solution-oriented spirit.
• Motivation to innovate in the fast-paced video game industry.
• Good communication skills in English and Chinese.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic programming.
• Experience in game development or technology development for games.
• Experience programming in game engines and digital content creation tools such as Unity, Maya, Blender, 3DS Max, or Motion Builder.
• Experience with distributed systems, containers such as Docker, high-performance computing, or CUDA programming.
