Senior AI Tech Architect (Greater China)

What you will do

• Analyze complex IT application landscapes, current architectures, and optimization opportunities.
• Identify technology decisions, explain architectural building blocks, and develop roadmaps and business cases.
• Review vendor proposals and technical work, manage IT projects, assure quality, and optimize application development processes.
• Design and implement enterprise GenAI platforms and LLM-enabled target processes for clients from strategy through IT operations.
• Guide engineering teams on production-grade applications, APIs, ML model serving, data-source integration, microservices, and legacy modernization.
• Advise colleagues and fellow architects, collaborate with BCG and PLA consultants, managing directors, clients, vendors, and partners, and contribute to the BCG technical community.

Requirements

• Experience in software development, technical project management, digital delivery, or technology consulting.
• University degree with above-average academic performance in a mathematical-scientific field, Data Science, information technology, or business administration.
• Industry or consulting experience, preferably with a data science background, and a good understanding of AI/ML concepts.
• Experience architecting scalable, performant, and cost-optimized AI/ML solutions and deploying and hosting Large Foundational Models.
• Ability to work with enterprise technology and run complex design processes with multiple stakeholders to implement enterprise GenAI platforms.
• Experience designing and building solutions in complex legacy organizations, including legacy integration and remediation using facades or strangler approaches.
• Ability to differentiate Large Language Models from other AI/ML techniques and explain the merits and sourcing implications of major GenAI technology players and LLM products, including guardrails, security, performance, and cost.
• Experience with GenAI, Python, TypeScript, APIs for serving ML models, popular models and vendors including cloud providers, orchestration frameworks, advanced prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, context windows, and memory.
• Ability to identify application components and interactions in typical GenAI solutions, design LLM-enabled process flows, integrate GenAI data sources, and guide production implementation.
• Overview of common development methods, tools, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement, plus experience with microservices topologies, resiliency, observability, discovery, routing, and security.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end and acquire missing knowledge to deliver results for teams and clients.

Nice to have

• Previous coding experience is highly desirable, although the role does not involve coding.
