Project Manager/PMO Consultant - Defence & Security

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom; hybrid working with 2 days per week on client site and 3 days remote. The role involves long-term client-facing assignments across the UK and requires sole British nationality for work with secure clients.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects from initiation through closure.
• Develop project plans covering scope, goals, deliverables, resources, timelines, and client alignment.
• Apply and tailor Agile, Waterfall, and other project management methodologies to different contexts.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, resource allocation, and change activities.
• Engage clients and stakeholders, communicate project status, and support transparent decision-making.
• Mentor junior team members and support their professional development.

Requirements

• Sole British nationality is required because the role involves working with secure clients.
• At least 2 years of experience in project management consulting, PMO, or related roles.
• Experience applying and adapting different project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and motivating members to achieve project goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, informed decision-making, and effective project risk management.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to have

• Experience working with secure clients.
• Advanced degree or project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile.
