What you will do

• Own hirify.global China’s AI transformation strategy, prioritized portfolio, intake, funding gates, value criteria, and scale-or-stop decisions.
• Own business cases, KPIs, benefits realization, model-cost economics, and build, buy, or partner recommendations for AI solutions.
• Lead AI Product Owners and PO-led PODs from MVP through scale, ensuring business ownership, D&T engagement, and BAU ownership before scaling.
• Direct rapid prototyping, AI product development, AI engineering, Forward Deployment Engineering, small language model, and AICL AI-layer delivery.
• Own the China AI platform and LLM foundation, including architecture, cloud engineering, model onboarding, qualification, production release gates, and localization-versus-build decisions.
• Drive AI adoption and the China-for-Global reusable AI offering in partnership with GTMx, International AIT, D&T, PIC, GCA, and Corporate and Global CIO teams.

Requirements

• AI-native leadership with hands-on technical depth, including the ability to challenge feasibility, model selection, cost, and reuse.
• Deep experience with LLMs and agentic AI, including prompt engineering, RAG, agent workflows, evaluation, guardrails, and enterprise-grade deployment.
• Working knowledge of AI platform and cloud architecture on China cloud providers, LLM foundations, MLOps or LLMOps, and China generative AI compliance, including PIPL and CAC rules.
• Experience with AI portfolio and value management, including model-cost and cost-per-outcome discipline.
• Product management and rapid experimentation at scale, including leadership of product owners and engineering teams from concept to validated MVP.
• Experience deploying AI in real commercial scenarios, ideally including China ecosystem contexts such as WeChat, enterprise assistants, or local model options.
• 12+ years of experience in AI or digital, including 5+ years leading AI or advanced-analytics teams and proven delivery of AI products into real business use.
• A track record of AI strategy, portfolio, and value ownership with accountability for impact beyond prototypes.
• Experience influencing senior business, technology, legal, compliance, and market stakeholders in a matrix without relying solely on direct authority.
• Ability to bring large-scale technology or internet-industry AI innovation experience into a commercial pharmaceutical organization.
• Fluent Mandarin and professional English for global collaboration.
• Business acumen, change leadership, decisiveness under uncertainty, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing, lean, flat AI team.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a technical or quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, AI or Machine Learning, Data Science, or Engineering; equivalent experience is considered.
• Regulated-industry experience in technology, biopharma, healthcare, finance, or a similar sector.
