Risk & Governance Specialist (AI)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; full-time, onsite at the Melbourne office.

What you will do

• Maintain service-line and corporate obligations registers, prioritise assurance requirements, map obligations to controls and keep stakeholders informed of changes.
• Document and improve controls, test their design and operating effectiveness, identify gaps and track remediation through closure and follow-up testing.
• Manage Gifts & Benefits and Conflicts of Interest submissions and registers, and coordinate vendor due diligence and escalation of findings.
• Administer the GRC system, including access, workflows, data quality and links between obligations, controls, risks, evidence and actions; prepare dashboards and reports.
• Support risk assessments, risk registers, framework and methodology updates, and maintain the Legal & Compliance policy register and review schedule.
• Coordinate ESG reporting timelines and information requests with Finance, data owners and external advisers, support climate-related disclosures, and apply AI and automation to compliance processes.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in governance, risk, compliance or assurance, ideally in gaming or a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• Experience maintaining obligations and controls documentation, reviewing evidence and identifying gaps.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical processes and controls, using sound judgement about specialist advice and escalation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail when managing registers, evidence, reviews and competing deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication, collaborative cross-departmental working and follow-through on agreed actions.
• Ability to work independently within agreed priorities and authority, and identify practical process improvements.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve efficiency, with curiosity to experiment, build repeatable workflows and critically assess outputs; practical examples of achieved efficiencies are expected.

Nice to have

• Experience administering GRC systems, with Protecht highly regarded, conducting controls testing or managing policy lifecycles.
• Experience managing vendor due diligence, Gifts & Benefits or Conflicts of Interest processes.
• Experience in a regulated, technology or online entertainment business.
• Exposure to ESG reporting, data collection or assurance, including work with business data owners and external advisers.
