Associate Scientist, Immunology

Location: On-site in Pearl River, New York, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $60,200–$100,400, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Perform high-throughput flow cytometry assays to characterize cellular immune responses supporting clinical vaccine programs.
• Support ELISPOT, ADCC, and other cellular immunoassays as needed.
• Qualify new assays, document experimental work, and maintain data integrity and audit readiness under GxP requirements and internal SOPs.
• Improve laboratory workflows through 5S, automation, process optimization, reagent preparation, inventory management, and efficient sample handling.
• Analyze and interpret assay results and present findings to colleagues and leadership.
• Collaborate within the Cell-Mediated Immunoassays group and cross-functionally on vaccine development programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and 0–2 years of experience.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in immunology or a related field.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Scientific curiosity and willingness to continuously learn and expand technical expertise.
• Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and productivity.
• Curiosity about applying AI tools to improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Nice to have

• Experience with flow cytometry and understanding of its scientific principles.
• Knowledge of immunology and cellular immune responses.
• Familiarity with ELISPOT, ADCC, or other biofunctional assays.
• Understanding of relevant statistics and data analysis.
• Experience with laboratory automation and high-throughput workflows.
• Experience with continuous improvement or Lean methodologies such as 5S.
• Familiarity with LIMS or other electronic laboratory systems.
• Exposure to mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.
• Prior experience in a clinical or regulated laboratory environment.
• AI fluency and interest in applying AI and digital tools to workflows.
