Research Associate (Biomedical Research)

Location: Full-time onsite in College Station, Texas, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with occasional work beyond normal office hours and/or weekends.

Salary: $45,000–$64,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Design, plan, conduct, and coordinate experiments for biomedical research projects.
• Apply standard research techniques, maintain detailed records, and analyze experimental and statistical data.
• Summarize research results for scientific and clientele-oriented publications.
• Manage laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory, supply ordering, minor repairs, service charges, and financial accounts.
• Supervise, train, and support undergraduate and graduate students and other laboratory, technical, or field staff.
• Maintain compliance documentation, support laboratory inspections, and train students and staff during onboarding.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, biosciences, biochemistry, genetics, or another related bioscientific field.
• Two years of related professional research experience in a biomedical laboratory.
• Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.
• Ability to use computers and applicable software to create databases, record, organize, prepare, present, and statistically analyze data.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Organization skills for maintaining inventory, supplies, and a clean, decluttered laboratory.
• Ability to delegate tasks and supervise students and staff.

Nice to have

• Experience with bacteria and mammalian cell culture and immunoassays.
• Experience with ELISA, western blot, flow cytometry, and PCR.
• Master’s thesis or PhD in biomedical science or a related field.
