Compliance Specialist (Defence & Security)

Location: Adelaide, Australia; hybrid work from home/office may be discussed after successful probation. A 9-day fortnight may also be discussed with the manager.

What you will do

• Lead compliance activities for allocated programs, projects and business areas.
• Act as the primary Ethics & Compliance contact and subject matter expert.
• Advise on global trade compliance, sanctions, ethics and related obligations.
• Conduct compliance audits, reviews and risk assessments.
• Develop and deliver compliance training across the organisation.
• Monitor regulatory changes, implement process improvements, and support junior Legal & Commercial team members.

Requirements

• Experience in compliance management within a complex or multi-jurisdiction organisation.
• Knowledge of Australian and global trade regulations, including ITAR and EAR requirements.
• Understanding of Australian Defence Industry procurement and contracting environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across diverse business groups.
• Experience interpreting and applying legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Tertiary qualifications in Law with admission to legal practice.
• South Australian Legal Practising Certificate, or the ability to obtain one.
• Australian citizenship is required, together with an Australian Defence Security Clearance at baseline, NV1 or NV2 level, or the ability to obtain one.
• Past and present nationality and citizenship information may be required to assess eligibility for access to materials controlled under export control regimes, including ITAR.
