Legal Engineer (Banking & Financial Services, AI)

What you will do

• Advise in-house legal teams at banks, insurers, asset managers and other financial institutions on workflow pain points and process innovation opportunities.
• Design and implement tailored solutions on the Legora platform with General Counsel, legal operations, compliance and in-house legal teams.
• Address high-volume documentation, remediation and repapering projects, regulatory deadlines, matter management and internal knowledge sharing.
• Shape product development, technical enhancements and roadmap priorities using in-house financial services experience, including security, confidentiality, auditability and model risk requirements.
• Deliver product demonstrations and training covering drafting, playbook-based review, regulatory analysis, risk assessment and business reporting.
• Drive change management by demonstrating how AI can improve efficiency, accuracy, cost control, risk management and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• 4+ years PQE with a strong, hands-on in-house background at a bank or other regulated financial services business; experience in a superannuation fund is also relevant.
• Working knowledge of financial services legal work, including derivatives and trading documentation, lending and finance, regulatory and compliance matters, or financial services commercial contracts.
• Ideally trained or practised at a top law firm.
• Passion for using technology to transform legal services.
