Failure Analysis Tools Development Intern (Python): Developing Python-based tools, data workflows, visualizations, and dashboards for SSD failure analysis with an accent on data preparation, failure-signature comparison, and report automation. Focus on analyzing engineering data, validating tool outputs against existing methods, and documenting maintainable solutions for engineering workflows.
hirify.global's SSDC Engineering Analysis team supports drive qualification, troubleshooting, and failure analysis for engineering and product reliability workflows.
What you will do
Develop Python-based tools to reduce manual data preparation, repetitive plotting, and report-generation work.
Work with failure analysis engineers to understand workflows, identify efficiency gaps, and translate user needs into practical features.
Retrieve, clean, combine, and analyze structured engineering data from files, databases, and internal data services.
Create visualizations and interactive dashboards for comparing drive, head, operation, test sequence, and failure-mode data.
Validate outputs against existing engineering methods, improve usability through feedback, and document architecture, assumptions, workflows, and maintenance steps.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Hands-on Python programming experience is required.
Working knowledge of data processing and analysis with pandas and NumPy.
Experience creating plots or dashboards with Plotly, Matplotlib, Streamlit, Dash, or similar technologies.
Understanding of software-development fundamentals, including modular code, debugging, version control, and basic testing.
Ability to communicate in written and spoken English.
Curiosity about applying software and data analysis to engineering problems; ability to break down open-ended problems, test ideas, and iterate from user feedback.
Careful attention to data quality, technical details, and validation of analysis results.
Ability to work independently, collaborate with engineers, communicate technical findings, and clarify unclear requirements or data.
