Associate Creative Director (Prenatal)

Location: Menlo Park, CA; onsite role with on-campus facilities and daily onsite lunches.

Base salary: $223,024–$244,783 per year, plus annual bonus and equity grants.

What you will do

• Lead brand development and communication strategy for Unity, the prenatal genetic portfolio, across social, events, experiential, outdoor, display, video, and sales enablement channels.
• Partner with Product, Sales, and Marketing to define objectives, develop creative strategies, and connect creative outputs to measurable business outcomes.
• Direct art, copy, messaging, visual design, motion, animation, video, presentations, environmental graphics, and branded experiences.
• Translate molecular diagnostics, genetic testing, and laboratory workflows into clear and engaging visual narratives for providers, clinicians, patients, and partners.
• Establish scalable design systems and brand guidelines; oversee projects from concept through final delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Mentor designers and contractors, collaborate with executives and scientific leaders, and coordinate external vendors, agencies, and production partners.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional design experience and 5+ years in art direction roles with demonstrated leadership.
• Professional design experience in science, bioscience, healthtech, or diagnostics.
• Exceptional portfolio showing the ability to translate complex scientific or technical concepts into accessible, engaging visual communications.
• Background at design firms, agencies, or in-house creative teams at innovative companies.
• Intellectual curiosity about medicine, science, computation, and physics, plus enthusiasm for translating complex science and technology into visual stories.
• Comfort with ambiguity, rapid pivots, and practical business constraints in a dynamic growth environment.
• Expert-level Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects.
• Proficiency with AI creative tools such as Midjourney, Kling, Imagen, Veo, or similar platforms.
• Video editing experience with DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro; strong understanding of motion design, animation principles, and video production workflows.
• Skills in client consulting, information design, typography, cohesive art direction, motion design, kinetic typography, and video storytelling.
