Senior Tax Manager – Indirect Tax

Location: Hybrid, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office site in London, Edinburgh or Leeds.

Salary: £107,304–£126,240 per year.

What you will do

• Provide indirect tax advice on new income streams, products and transactions across the business.
• Build relationships with internal partners and act as a business partner for new products and transactions.
• Review VAT returns, support compliance activities and provide dashboards for senior colleagues.
• Lead systems and process assurance reviews, identify indirect tax risks, and establish effective governance and controls.
• Improve VAT activities and processes using tax technology, document controls, and monitor implementation.
• Deliver tailored training, analyse data, identify process shortcomings, and interpret policy to support business outcomes.

Requirements

• Strong capability in applying VAT expertise to ensure VAT reporting obligations are fulfilled, tracked and appropriately managed.
• CTA qualification or equivalent work experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
• Ability to assess tax risk holistically, anticipate emerging issues and apply sound judgement in complex situations.
• Ability to interpret technical information objectively, identify assumptions or gaps, and develop well-reasoned solutions and advice.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and meaningfully to different stakeholders.
• Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across organisational boundaries.
