Senior Director, LEO Programs (Aerospace)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States. Site-based hybrid role requiring employees to work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a hirify.global office or work location.

Salary: $225,500–$356,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $280,500–$420,500 annually.

What you will do

• Lead one or more LEO satellite, payload, constellation, and space infrastructure programs from concept through deployment and operational handover.
• Own program cost, schedule, technical performance, contractual commitments, quality, mission success, customer satisfaction, risks, issues, dependencies, and corrective actions.
• Build, lead, and scale the LEO Programs organization, including program management professionals, delivery leads, program controls, configuration management, and related functions.
• Establish execution strategies, governance frameworks, operating models, integrated schedules, staffing plans, budgets, forecasts, reporting structures, and review processes.
• Coordinate execution across engineering, manufacturing, integration and test, mission assurance, supply chain, launch, mission operations, finance, and business operations.
• Lead customer, executive, design, milestone, readiness, and contractual reviews; oversee suppliers and subcontractors; and develop future program leadership talent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Program Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience leading complex aerospace, defense, satellite, spacecraft, or space systems development programs.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional development programs from concept through deployment and operational readiness while meeting budget and schedule commitments.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, integration and test, supply chain, quality, and operations.
• Experience managing program cost, schedule, technical performance, contractual deliverables, and customer relationships.
• Experience building and leading program organizations in complex technical environments.
• Strong understanding of spacecraft and payload development, systems engineering, manufacturing, integration and test, and launch activities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders across multiple organizations.
• US citizenship required.

• Experience leading LEO satellite, constellation, payload, or space infrastructure programs.
• Experience supporting government and commercial space customers.
• Earned Value Management experience.
• PMP certification or an equivalent program management credential.
• Experience leading programs through launch, on-orbit commissioning, and operational acceptance.
• Experience scaling teams and organizational processes during rapid business growth.
