Splunk Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; New York, New York; San Francisco, California; or Washington, DC. In-person onboarding is required in the San Francisco or Chicago office during the first week.

Salary: $194,000–$267,000 USD annual base salary for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; a separate annual base salary range of $174,000–$238,000 USD is also stated. Equity, bonus, and benefits may additionally apply.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the Splunk ecosystem into a scalable observability platform for SRE teams and business partners.
• Optimize log collection, processing, and storage for high reliability and low latency across Splunk services.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead post-incident reviews to drive systemic improvements.
• Automate deployment and scaling of observability agents and collectors to eliminate toil.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience scaling and managing Splunk Cloud at scale across 1,000+ services, including Workload Management and HEC optimization.
• Expertise creating intuitive, actionable Splunk dashboards that correlate data across multiple sources.
• Data-driven approach to debugging complex, cross-service performance bottlenecks.
• Ability to access federal environments and protected federal data, including the ability to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status upon hire.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, Vector, or similar application-instrumentation frameworks.
• Experience implementing the Splunk charge-back app for usage reporting.
• Experience managing native observability tools in AWS or GCP.
