Production & Industrial Engineering Senior Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Wichita, Kansas, United States; onsite role supporting Boeing Wichita Commercial Airplanes.

Salary: $120,800–$185,200.

What you will do

• Lead the Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering team supporting a large, high-rate commercial aircraft production line.
• Manage resource allocation, scheduling, rate readiness, recovery plans, long-range asset planning, headcount planning, and short- and medium-range resource planning.
• Define the future factory vision and strategy while overseeing processes, policies, technical approaches, budgets, and development projects.
• Partner with Operations, engineering leaders, customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and internal organizations to remove roadblocks and align priorities.
• Lead standardization of production execution, WIP reduction, throughput improvement, and recovery planning.
• Use factory and operations metrics to identify improvement opportunities and support safe, high-quality, on-time delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a management position with direct reports.
• 5+ years of experience leading and implementing projects in a production-facing role.
• Experience in a production support role, such as Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, NC Programming, or an equivalent area.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence and professional presence when working with company executives and customers.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience in a management position with direct reports and 5+ years of experience leading and implementing projects in a production-facing role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience in product flow optimization, WIP management, and throughput management.
• Experience with TOC, Systems Thinking, and Lean concepts.
• Experience and understanding of MRP management and signaling using SAP.
• Experience building an engineering organizational talent pipeline.
• Experience in dynamic environments involving customer and/or regulatory interactions.
