Product / Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States; 9/80 work schedule option with every other Friday off. Travel 5–10% to customers and suppliers as needed. The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually.

What you will do

• Provide production assembly and test instructions, including work instructions, acceptance test procedures, engineering memos, and electronic historical record entries.
• Support the evaluation and implementation of assembly fixtures, tools, production flow-line systems, and test equipment.
• Maintain product integrity and production quality by resolving manufacturing problems, conducting Material Review Board analyses, and supporting potential customer notice-of-escape evaluations.
• Track first-pass yield and product cost metrics to support company and departmental goals.
• Facilitate design changes by redlining drawings, attending Change Review Board meetings, and initiating the Engineering Order process.
• Collaborate with Assembly and Test personnel and other engineering resources as the product design authority for released products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering is required.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace or another regulated industry.
• Hands-on experience interacting with a manufacturing shop floor.
• Knowledge of root cause and corrective action, LEAN, project planning, product line transfer, and data acquisition and analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Detailed knowledge of hydraulic or mechanical actuation products or electronics, including top-level products and subassemblies.
• Experience coordinating and interfacing with customers or suppliers on complex projects or issues.
• Knowledge and demonstrated practice of Advanced Product Quality Planning tools and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and critical-thinking skills.
