Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Annual salary: $143,000–$286,000, plus performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning systems and production-ready models.
• Build auto-research capabilities that automate model training optimization, experimentation, evaluation, and hyperparameter tuning.
• Implement, test, and support machine learning services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Apply MLOps practices including CI/CD, model versioning, automated retraining, telemetry, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams while mentoring peers and providing technical leadership.
• Ensure secure, compliant machine learning engineering aligned with enterprise AI governance standards.

Requirements

• Either a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 3 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, AI systems, or a related area; or 5 years of relevant experience without the stated degree.
• Expertise designing, developing, and deploying scalable machine learning systems using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Java, and C++ for production-ready machine learning applications.
• Hands-on experience operating agentic or autonomous research systems and running automated experimentation against defined objective metrics through AutoResearch loops.
• Experience across the machine learning lifecycle, including data sourcing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices such as CI/CD, model versioning, automated retraining, and telemetry.
• Ability to implement secure, compliant machine learning pipelines following enterprise AI governance standards.
• Demonstrated collaboration and mentorship capabilities within cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with accessibility best practices and inclusive digital experiences, including WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility integration.
