Hirify AI/Оригинал
TL;DR
Junior Autonomy & Sensor Fusion Engineer (AI/Robotics): Developing, integrating, testing, and validating autonomous navigation and sensor-fusion systems for uncrewed surface vessels with an accent on GNSS-resilient positioning, marine radar, robotics, and embedded AI. Focus on building Python-based diagnostics and autonomy components, validating sensor data and perception models, and troubleshooting integrated hardware and software during controlled vessel testing.
Location: Fort Pierce, Florida, USA; onsite work involving laboratory, simulation, dockside, facility, and controlled vessel testing.
Company
hirify.global supports Blue Ops development of autonomous systems for uncrewed surface vessels and maritime robotics.
What you will do
Integrate and test GNSS/GPS, RTK-GNSS, inertial navigation sensors, IMUs, magnetometers, heading sensors, marine radar, cameras, and other onboard sensors.
Support positioning, navigation, timing, sensor-fusion, autonomous-navigation, waypoint-following, control, collision-avoidance, and mission-behavior development.
Develop and debug Python utilities, APIs, diagnostic tools, automated tests, ROS 2 components, and software for Linux and NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
Prepare and evaluate radar and sensor datasets, computer-vision and machine-learning components, inference benchmarks, and embedded AI deployments.
Conduct laboratory, simulation, dockside, and controlled vessel testing; analyze logs and telemetry, troubleshoot integration issues, and verify changes against acceptance criteria.
Document engineering results, test procedures, technical reports, milestones, and software or hardware issues while following safety and change-control processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent demonstrated technical experience is considered.
Foundational proficiency in Python programming.
Familiarity with Linux development environments, Git or another version-control system, sensors, embedded systems, or robotics.
Basic understanding of GPS/GNSS, coordinate systems, navigation principles, linear algebra, trigonometry, and introductory control systems.
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems systematically, communicate findings, document technical work, and learn unfamiliar technologies.
Ability to walk, stand, navigate indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods, and regularly lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work with PPE, ladders, industrial environments, noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and occasional off-hours or weekend responses.
Successful completion of a post-offer background check is required.
For ITAR/EAR-restricted work, proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residence is required, and sponsorship for export-restricted work authorization is not available.
Nice to have
ROS 2 and robotics middleware experience.
Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or similar embedded platforms; GNSS, RTK, INS, IMUs, and magnetometers.
Experience with NMEA 0183/NMEA 2000, marine radar, LiDAR, camera-based perception, Kalman filters, EKF, and sensor fusion.
Experience with autonomous vehicles, drones, USVs, C++, OpenCV, PyTorch, or machine-learning inference.
Experience with Docker, CMake, colcon, automated testing, CAN bus, serial communications, network diagnostics, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, maritime navigation, or COLREGs.
Culture & Benefits
Hands-on work across software, embedded systems, robotics, physical hardware, and maritime testing.
Opportunity to develop practical expertise in maritime autonomy, sensor fusion, GNSS-resilient navigation, robotics, and edge AI alongside experienced engineers.
Base pay plus an annual equity package and potential bonuses.
Equal employment opportunity workplace with E-Verify participation.
Hiring process
