System Administrator (Linux, Clearance Required)

Location: On-site at Fort Meade, Maryland, United States, in a SCIF environment.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually.

What you will do

• Administer, harden, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot RHEL, Rocky Linux, and CentOS Stream systems.
• Implement DISA STIGs, remediate SCAP findings, maintain SSPs, and support RMF, A&A, ATO, and continuous-monitoring activities.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and document STE/STN infrastructure and endpoints.
• Manage DoD PKI, TLS/SSL, HSMs, cryptographic policies, FIPS configurations, and security compliance.
• Operate Docker or Podman workloads, Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters, VMware and KVM/QEMU virtualization, and container image pipelines.
• Administer NAS, SAN, Ceph, LVM, RAID, Linux firewalls, routing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, ACLs, and related infrastructure.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with an active Full Scope Polygraph is required before starting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
• At least 5 years of system administration experience in classified or secure DoD/IC environments.
• Deep hands-on Linux experience across RHEL, Rocky Linux, and/or CentOS, including DISA STIGs and SCAP compliance scanning.
• Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls, RMF, SSP development, and A&A/ATO activities.
• Hands-on STE/STN installation, configuration, and support experience.
• Knowledge of PKI, TLS, DoD PKI, cryptographic standards, and FIPS enforcement.
• Strong IP networking and host-based firewall experience.
• Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or OpenShift; VMware vSphere or KVM/QEMU; and NAS, SAN, LVM, or distributed storage.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliance through Security+, CASP+, or an equivalent qualification.

Nice to have

• Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack, or Chef experience.
• Bash and Python scripting proficiency.
• OpenShift experience in classified deployments.
• Cross-domain solutions experience.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or C2S.
• RHCSA or RHCE certification.
