AI Scientist Co-op

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid work arrangement with the proportion of on-site and remote work discussed during the interview. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

What you will do

• Support the development, deployment, and operationalization of advanced analytics and AI/ML solutions using statistics, machine learning, generative AI, and optimization techniques.
• Explore analytical approaches, conduct research, and contribute to practical AI applications that solve business challenges.
• Assist with deploying and supporting AI/ML solutions on Databricks and Azure Kubernetes Service, including application development activities.
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets to help produce end-to-end solutions from experimentation through deployment.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand needs and translate data into actionable insights.
• Share ideas, learn best practices, and contribute to AI and machine learning use cases across the organization.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
• Available for an 8-month co-op term and returning to full-time studies.
• Demonstrated academic or project experience with Python, SQL, and machine learning fundamentals.
• Interest in deploying AI/ML solutions into production and supporting application development in a cloud environment.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Databricks, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Spark, and Git.
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and curious problem-solving approach with an interest in teamwork and learning from others.

Hiring process
