Data Engineer I (AWS, Databricks)

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Salary: $112,000–$184,800 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions, apply transformations, correct problems, and recommend data cleansing and quality improvements.
• Design data solutions and analyze data sources to determine their value for analytical processes.
• Implement data governance, data security, and data quality practices.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver data products and educate end users on analytical environments.
• Analyze, assess, and resolve moderate-complexity data and system defects and incidents.
• Test data movement, transformation code, and data components.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
• At least 2 additional years of software or data engineering experience.
• The ideal candidate has six years of related experience.
• Hands-on expertise with Databricks and AWS, including building and shipping production solutions on these platforms.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, programming languages, and sound software engineering practices.
• Proven domain expertise, in-depth knowledge of supported systems, and strong debugging skills for unfamiliar code and recurring problems.
• Ability to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace using small-batch releases, contribute to tradeoff and negotiation discussions, communicate clearly with technical and business partners, and demonstrate self-motivated leadership.

• Snowflake experience.
• Experience with or exposure to artificial intelligence and curiosity to develop further in this area.
