Entry Level Mechanical Design Engineer (Gas Turbine Systems)

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week. Relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $72,360–$108,540 per year.

What you will do

• Create Creo designs for turbomachinery package systems and components based on project ACS definitions, including fuel, lube, start, and other supporting subsystems.
• Design custom piping, hoses, bracketry, structures, and other package components.
• Maintain accurate and timely Mechanical Interface Drawings and mechanical definitions for production and customers.
• Create bills of materials and production drawings.
• Coordinate with design and support organizations, purchasing, suppliers, and field teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support Lean and other interdepartmental and corporate process-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Excellent organization and time-management abilities, effective problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to apply analysis techniques to structures, piping systems, and other package components.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis, system design, and turbine applications and installation.

Nice to have

• Experience with gas turbine systems and their operation.
• Knowledge of Linked / Configurable Data.
• Experience with Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects with competing priorities, and meet project deadlines and commitments.
