Senior Legal Counsel (Blockchain)

What you will do

• Draft, negotiate, close, and manage client and vendor agreements across commercial and contractual matters.
• Advise business leaders on commercial opportunities and legal, financial, operational, and reputational risks.
• Support intellectual property strategy and licensing, with a focus on open-source issues, as well as privacy, compliance, acquisitions, and other legal matters.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, HR, and IT & Security teams.
• Design and execute automated contracting, compliance, and obligation-management processes using AI and advanced tools.
• Deliver staff training, manage legal records, and organize corporate governance processes for entities in multiple jurisdictions.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant legal experience, including in-house experience at a high-growth company in the blockchain and digital assets space.
• Comprehensive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements in the blockchain space, including open-source expertise.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Creative problem-solving and negotiation skills, with a pragmatic and business-minded approach to legal analysis and risk assessment.
• Ability to take significant responsibility, work independently, follow through effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Expert verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics to people without legal training.
• Law degree and license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
