DevEx Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Kfar Saba, Israel (hybrid)

What you will do

• Build developer tools, platforms, and automation as a product to improve engineering productivity.
• Help build an agentic software development lifecycle using AI agents for design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Work across cloud and application infrastructure, including CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
• Work directly with developers to identify platform challenges and improve their day-to-day work.
• Initiate, plan, and lead projects that improve developer productivity and business value.
• Track adoption and impact, iterating based on developer feedback.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in a cloud-oriented organization, building and owning production services or tools end to end.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proven experience initiating, designing, implementing, and leading meaningful projects.
• Strong proficiency in at least one general-purpose language: Python, TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: CI/CD pipelines, preferably Jenkins; Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform; Kubernetes and containers; AWS or GCP.
• Hands-on use of AI development tools beyond autocomplete, including coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor, MCP servers, and custom instructions and workflows.
• Product mindset and strong interpersonal skills, with attention to developer needs, accessibility, collaboration, adoption, and impact.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-driven development systems, including automated code review, AI software factories, ephemeral AI development environments, agentic workflow orchestration, or AI-run engineering processes such as automated upgrades.
• Experience improving development processes and developer experience through Internal Developer Portals and self-service tools such as Backstage.
• Experience building on LLM APIs, including agents, MCP, tool design, and prompt design.
• Experience building internal tools, libraries, CLIs, or automation used by other developers.
• Familiarity with observability tools for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Knowledge of build tools such as Maven, Gradle, npm, and nx; software testing methodologies and tools; and Bash scripting.
