Graduate SoC Architecture Engineer (AI Hardware)

Location: Bristol, UK. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme and must not require visa sponsorship.

Salary: £45,000 per annum.

What you will do

• Specify, model and evaluate complex system-on-chip subsystems for next-generation AI hardware.
• Translate product requirements into technical options, design trade-offs and validation plans.
• Take responsibility for defined chip subsystems or functions, model architectural features and assess third-party intellectual property.
• Gather performance evidence through simulations, modelling and analysis to support architecture decisions.
• Work with design, verification, hardware and software teams through design reviews, documentation and integration.
• Support silicon bring-up and validate architectural ideas on real hardware.

Requirements

• Degree or expected degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Understanding of computer architecture or digital systems, with an interest in SoC design, AI hardware or high-performance computing.
• Programming experience in Python, Rust, C++ or a similar language.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and clear written and verbal communication, including documenting findings and explaining technical ideas.
• Relevant skills may be demonstrated through coursework, a dissertation, personal or team projects, research or other relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Exposure to register-transfer level design, modelling, simulation, PCIe, Ethernet or DDR.
