Communications Coordinator

Location: hirify.global Okanagan Campus, Kelowna, BC, Canada; onsite role.

Salary: $6,143.67–$8,830.25 CAD monthly.

What you will do

• Coordinate the creation and delivery of communications materials for events, workshops, engagement initiatives, industry engagement, and donor engagement.
• Maintain and update website and social media content, and support web and digital communications plans with the Communications Manager and University Relations.
• Write, edit, fact-check, and produce website content, brochures, media releases, publicity materials, biographies, and promotional communications.
• Support recognition and awards communications by researching and interviewing faculty, staff, and students and coordinating announcements of honours and distinctions.
• Design presentations and provide photography, videography, and photo and video archive management.
• Plan and execute workshops and public engagements, coordinating venues, catering, technical support, registration, vendors, communications, and post-event evaluations.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of four years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own.
• Commitment to enhancing personal awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Nice to have

• Experience coordinating communications projects across print and digital platforms.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with social media tools and strategies.
• Experience in a post-secondary setting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
• Graphic design, photography, and videography experience.
• Knowledge of hirify.global Okanagan and the Kelowna region.
