Forward Deployed Engineer (Enterprise AI)

Location: Munich, Germany; based ideally in the Munich metropolitan area, with recurring visits to client sites and initial three-day onsite engagements.

What you will do

• Work directly with enterprise clients and senior business stakeholders to understand challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and build full-stack solutions, including APIs, databases, and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop data pipelines to access, manage, and integrate external and internal enterprise data.
• Support reliable and scalable implementations across platform engineering and data engineering.
• Map data, structure information, and establish the technical foundations for successful deployments.
• Own technical delivery from discovery and implementation through ongoing improvement, including visits to client sites during deployments and pilots.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong hands-on engineering skills, including the ability to independently build and deploy an API backed by a database.
• Solid experience in data engineering, data pipelines, platform engineering, or distributed systems.
• At least 2 years of experience working directly with business stakeholders, including directors, VPs, or C-suite executives.
• Experience delivering at least one project in the insurance industry, with a working understanding of underwriting, claims, and policies in force.
• Ability to translate complex business challenges into practical technical solutions and explain them clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and complex information.
• Professional fluency in German and English.
• Comfort working directly with clients and travelling to client sites when required.

• Experience with data science, predictive modelling, or front-end development.
