Senior Associate, Merchant (E-commerce Merchandising)

Location: Hybrid role based at hirify.global's Boston headquarters; Monday–Thursday in office and Friday working from home. Travel is expected for industry tradeshows, supplier visits, and retail-store visits, with occasional international travel based on business needs. This is not a fully remote position.

Annual base pay: USD 83,500–92,250. Additional equity, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation may be provided depending on the position.

What you will do

• Build and maintain category assortment strategies for accent furniture, entertainment furniture, and indoor fire, including shelf-space plans and ongoing product selection and development.
• Drive hirify.global Verified strategy by physically auditing and vetting products and creating or optimizing product-quality rubrics.
• Own the financial performance of products placed in premium shelf spaces and adapt assortment and shelf-space allocation based on results.
• Establish frameworks and targets for physical-retail assortment strategies with Planning & Allocation, Visual Merchandising, and leadership.
• Partner with Category Management, Curation Planning and Sourcing, Marketing, Analytics and Operations, and external suppliers to execute the assortment strategy.
• Represent the customer in product-placement decisions and use data to drive sales, share gains, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Approximately 4+ years of experience within an ecommerce or corporate retail organization preferred. Experience in buying, retail merchandising, or retail home-furnishing planning is preferred.
• Strong interest in buying or supplier relationship management, with knowledge of industry trends, style, and product design.
• Curiosity and willingness to quickly adopt evolving GenAI tools and incorporate them into daily merchandising workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally and build internal and external business relationships.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while working autonomously and with partners.
• Self-starter able to achieve specific target goals and quickly take ownership of responsibilities.
