  • Develop SCADA and HMI applications, tag databases, communication drivers, scripting, templates, redundancy architectures, and operator-focused displays following ISA-101 and HPHMI principles.
  • Develop ISA-88 batch control software, including phase logic, equipment modules, unit procedures, recipe management, equipment arbitration, material tracking, execution monitoring, and reporting.
  • Configure alarm management, SIS safety logic, plant historians, operational dashboards, reports, and ISA-95 interfaces with MES, ERP, and LIMS systems.
  • Configure industrial communications and software integrations using OPC-UA, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/RTU, DeviceNet, REST APIs, SQL, and Python.
  • Define OT network and cybersecurity controls, manage software configuration and recovery practices, execute FAT/SAT and commissioning tests, troubleshoot control software, maintain engineering documentation, and provide technical direction to contractors and consultants.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of controls software, PLC programming, or SCADA development experience in process industries.
  • Hands-on PLC programming experience with at least one major Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, or equivalent platform using IEC 61131-3 languages.
  • Hands-on experience developing or maintaining SCADA applications on Ignition, FactoryTalk, AVEVA, WinCC, or an equivalent platform.
  • Experience designing HMI displays according to ISA-101 or HPHMI principles, developing ISA-88 batch control sequences, configuring alarm management systems with working knowledge of ISA-18.2, and configuring plant historians with operational dashboards.
  • Familiarity with ISA-95 enterprise-control integration concepts and working knowledge of OPC-UA, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or Modbus protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and I/O lists to develop, test, and commission control logic.
  • Working knowledge of version control and change control for control system applications.
  • Working knowledge of safety logic programming and functional testing under IEC 61511.

Nice to have

  • Ignition Designer, Rockwell Automation Programmer, Siemens TIA Portal, ISA Certified Automation Professional, or equivalent certification.
  • Additional ISA-88 experience with recipe management and material genealogy tracking, and IEC 61511 safety logic development under formal software validation and functional testing.
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI/AVEVA PI, PI AF, PI Web API, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Python, REST APIs, Git, LIMS integration, virtualized or containerized SCADA and historian infrastructure, and server/client redundancy.
  • Familiarity with GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, NQA-1, IEC 62443, and secure industrial control system network architecture.
