Environmental Geologist I

What you will do

• Coordinate and execute daily environmental field assignments and oversee drillers, laborers, and other field subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with project work plans, health and safety protocols, and client or tenant constraints; direct drilling using direct push, hollow stem auger, air rotary, and sonic methods.
• Maintain lithologic boring logs according to USCS and ASTM standards and collect soil, soil gas, groundwater, and ambient air samples.
• Assist with operation, maintenance, and tracking of active remediation treatment systems.
• Research historical site information, manage laboratory analytical data, track quality assurance deliverables, and identify data trends.
• Prepare technical figures, map contours, plume maps, cross-sections, boring logs, reports, tables, and appendices; support subcontractor bids, procurement, budgets, and assigned project management tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
• At least 3 years of progressive environmental consulting or Staff Geologist experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to manage concurrent projects, and a proactive approach to complex environmental challenges.
• Familiarity with California regulatory frameworks, including DTSC and RWQCB, for sample collection, preservation, and data reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with industry-specific logging, mapping, or environmental data modeling software such as gINT, LogPlot, ArcGIS, or EquIS.
• Willingness to pursue professional development toward California Professional Geologist licensure.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel to project sites and regional hirify.global offices as required.

Nice to have

• Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification with a valid 8-hour refresher.
