Company

hirify.global develops fast fission power plants, nuclear fuel recycling technologies, and a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes.

What you will do

  • Develop and own the Aurora power plant process simulation model using AVEVA Process Simulation, Aspen/HYSYS, Siemens FloMaster, or a similar tool.
  • Model transient and steady-state plant performance and iteratively update plant equipment models as design parameters and drawings evolve.
  • Automate plant model development to accelerate design decisions and inform plant economics and operations.
  • Build detailed equipment component models using equipment specifications and performance results.
  • Collaborate with process engineering, instrumentation and controls, power generation, and power distribution teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for regulatory filings and internal or external technical reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, nuclear, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing or modeling plant processes in power generation, petroleum, chemical, or a similar industry.
  • Broad familiarity with engineering principles, strong systems engineering knowledge, and strong operations intuition.
  • Strong knowledge of plant thermodynamic cycles and process fluid modeling at both equipment and plant levels.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced and highly iterative environment, and propose creative solutions to technical problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical content and results clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable solving open-ended problems with limited guidance.
  • Must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable U.S. export control laws to be eligible for work involving controlled information.

Nice to have

  • Experience building power conversion system process simulation models.
  • Experience designing process systems in power or chemical industries.

Culture & Benefits

  • Startup environment focused on efficiency, ownership, collaboration, humility, and creative problem-solving.
  • Flexible time off, flexible work hours, and wellness credits.
  • Equity, performance bonuses, competitive pay, 401(k), health insurance with employer contribution, HSA, and FSA.
