TL;DR
Project Engineer - Advanced Development & Simulation (CFD/FEA): Performing thermal and structural simulations for engine systems, electrical generator systems, and enclosures with an accent on computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, and experimental validation. Focus on optimizing thermal management, modeling piping restrictions, preparing CAD geometry, and validating simulation assumptions through thermal and fluid-flow measurements.

Location: Hybrid in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, United States, with remote work available.

Salary: $83,300–$105,200 per year.

Company

hirify.global develops engines, generators, power conversion and UPS systems, EV components, electrification solutions, microgrid controls, and clean energy solutions for OEM, residential, industrial, and commercial customers.

What you will do

  • Perform thermal and structural simulations of engine systems, electrical generator systems, tanks, and enclosures.
  • Use CFD tools including STAR-CCM+ and uFx to optimize fan designs, radiator core selection, and surrounding mechanical structures for generator-set cooling targets.
  • Use analytical and CFD methods to model restrictions in fuel delivery and engine exhaust piping systems.
  • Apply FEA tools to evaluate engine and generator-set safety and product performance.
  • Prepare and simplify CAD geometry for thermal and structural simulations.
  • Gather simulation requirements and success criteria, then perform thermal and fluid-flow measurements to validate modeling assumptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Experience with commercial CAD tools and the ability to manage large CAD assemblies.
  • At least two years of experience performing successfully in a similar role, graduate school, or industry.
  • Ability to apply engineering knowledge and skills in real-world work environments and contribute to team outcomes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Siemens STAR-CCM+.
  • Experience with Altair FEA simulation products.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Culture & Benefits

  • Safety-focused and inclusive work environment guided by a Zero Is Possible safety culture.
  • Work-life flexibility, career development opportunities, and recognition programs.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits, including health, vision, dental, and a 401(k) with company matching.
