Knowledge & Innovation Lawyer - Litigation (AI)

Salary: $275,000–$325,000 per year

What you will do

• Curate and maintain litigation knowledge assets, including precedent libraries, playbooks, expertise resources, matter insights, and practice-specific know-how.
• Capture lessons from matter teams, organize matter profiles and practice data, and support reporting, dashboards, and operational insights.
• Map litigation workflows, identify recurring challenges, and design improvements using better processes, data, and AI.
• Partner with practice leaders, matter teams, Knowledge Analysts, and Data Science & AI Engineering to test, evaluate, and roll out litigation workflows and use cases.
• Support adoption and training for AI tools, knowledge resources, and AI-enabled workflows, including ethical and secure use in litigation.
• Build test sets for core litigation tasks, evaluate AI output quality, and maintain guidance on AI in court filings, citation verification, judges’ standing orders, local rules, and client restrictions.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
• 8+ years of hands-on litigation experience at a large law firm or comparable practice, at partner, counsel, or senior-associate level.
• Strong understanding of litigation workflows, including early case assessment, research, and drafting.
• Strong judgment regarding legal authority, facts, procedural posture, court practice, privilege, and the practical limits of reusing work from another matter.
• Ability to earn the trust of partners and associates, distill complex litigation work into concise guidance, and lead cross-functional work to completion.
• Hands-on use of generative AI in litigation work, a clear view of its limits, and the ability to demonstrate workflows or evaluations built.

Nice to have

• Prior litigation knowledge management, professional support, attorney development, legal innovation, or practice operations experience.
• Experience running a contained pilot or implementation of litigation technology or AI tools.
• Experience supporting more than one litigation specialty and designing resources for different offices or courts.
