2027 Spring Data Scientist Co-op (Semiconductor)

Location: Onsite in Gloucester, MA, United States; co-op starts in January 2027. Travel required up to 10% of the time.

Salary: $33–$50 per hour.

What you will do

• Review, organize, and standardize SPC charts, control plans, and monitoring protocols across metrology systems and process tools.
• Consolidate and migrate data from legacy TW and Rs metrology systems to a centralized network location.
• Assess SPC performance and investigate charts, limits, workflows, and weak capability indicators such as Cpk.
• Develop dashboards and data-visualization solutions for SPC trends, tool health, and exceptions.
• Create pass/fail indicators and alerting workflows, and automate recurring data collection, chart generation, review, and reporting.
• Collaborate with engineers and process technicians on requirements, testing, documentation, adoption, and presentations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science.
• Available to work full-time for a 6–8 month internship/co-op assignment while maintaining student status.
• Programming experience and strong knowledge of statistical process control using statistical software such as JMP, Python, MATLAB, or similar computational tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to lead technical investigations and drive productivity with minimal supervision.
• Ability to adapt to new equipment, processes, and technologies while working in shared research facilities and following cleanroom protocols.
• Clear written, verbal, and presentation communication skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
