Mainframe QA Tester (MVS COBOL / JCL)

Location: Remote work from home; Columbia, South Carolina

What you will do

• Test software coding changes affecting Medicaid systems-related data.
• Create test scenarios, execute tests, and analyze actual versus expected results.
• Investigate discrepancies and collaborate with project, technical, and business teams to resolve them.
• Support User Acceptance Testing with business users, external healthcare providers, and trading partners.
• Coordinate testing across agencies and internal subsystems.
• Assist with business, process, and technical documentation while working with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with Mainframe, MVS COBOL, JCL, software testing, and test scenario creation.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Adaptability, flexibility, self-motivation, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and collaborate as part of a team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with Serena ChangeMan.
• Experience using Excel as a testing tool.
• ISTQB certification.
