Product Lead Engineer (PHP/React)

Location: US Remote, United States

Salary: $135,000–$145,000 per annum plus bonus

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical authority across multiple Agile Scrum teams within a product vertical.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex features across backend, frontend, and mobile platforms, from design through deployment and monitoring.
• Make implementation and architectural decisions, resolve technical disagreements, and maintain high engineering standards.
• Decompose ambiguous requirements, identify technical debt and reliability risks, and improve performance.
• Write production code, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers through pair programming, design discussions, and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Customer Success while communicating estimates, risks, progress, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including production SaaS environments.
• Deep proficiency in PHP and JavaScript/React, including design patterns, performance optimization, and web security best practices.
• Strong command of relational database design, SQL query optimization, and data modeling with MySQL or MariaDB.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring, pairing with, and upskilling less experienced software engineers.
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted engineering tools and developer workflows.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with full-stack ownership in a cloud environment.
• Experience with AWS cloud architecture, including IaaS, PaaS, serverless computing, and managed database solutions.
• Hands-on experience with React Native for cross-platform mobile development.
• Working knowledge of OWASP, CIS, SOC2, or similar security standards and benchmarks.
• Experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Experience in regulated software environments with HIPAA, HITECH, PCI DSS, or similar compliance standards.
