Software Engineer Telematics (C++/Embedded Linux)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; international travel up to 20% may be required.

Annual gross base salary: lei 165,000–lei 242,000.

What you will do

• Study customer and internal specifications and create component design documents based on the software architecture.
• Develop, modify, port, and maintain C++ software components for embedded Linux and automotive telematics applications.
• Resolve unclear technical requirements with internal, external, and customer stakeholders and propose optimal solutions.
• Perform functional, unit, and system testing; specify unit tests and participate in code reviews.
• Analyze root causes, debug with gdb, fix defects, and verify the effectiveness of software fixes.
• Coordinate software development with peers and software team leaders, including requirements, performance issues, and occasional international training or coordination travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another relevant IT-connected specialization.
• At least 4 years of experience as a software developer, including at least 3 years of C++ experience.
• Good knowledge of C++, Embedded Linux, Linux, and embedded operating systems.
• Experience developing embedded applications.
• Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, and socket communication.
• Working knowledge of software development processes.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with TCP, UDP, MQTT, and CAN protocols.
• Knowledge of Unified Modelling Language.
• Knowledge of agile software development methods, including SCRUM or SAFe Agile.
• Linux Kernel experience.
