Data Engineer (AWS/Spark)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; hybrid model with at least three days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain robust batch and streaming data pipelines on an AWS-hosted data platform.
• Develop scalable data solutions using Spark, Databricks, and related tooling.
• Ensure the quality, performance, reliability, and observability of data products.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, commercial, and other cross-functional teams to support business and analytics needs.
• Apply engineering best practices including clean code, testing, peer reviews, and continuous improvement of platform tooling.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Experience with data processing tooling, preferably Databricks.
• Good hands-on experience with SQL and Python.
• Good understanding of data modelling, including medallion/layered architectures and dimensional modelling.
• Familiarity with data modelling, version control, and orchestration tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and solve complex challenges.

Nice to have

• Spark experience.
• Exposure to infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with streaming frameworks such as Flink or Lambda.
• Understanding of cloud services and infrastructure including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with data quality frameworks or data observability tooling.
• Interest in developer experience and scalable platforms.
• Contributions to open-source or internal engineering communities.
