Senior Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable production-grade data pipelines for AI model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Own data engineering solutions from architecture and technical design through implementation, optimisation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Develop cloud infrastructure for collecting, processing, and storing large volumes of data from connected devices.
• Evolve data lake architecture, training infrastructure, monitoring capabilities, and product feedback loops.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers, AI Ops, software developers, and other technical stakeholders.
• Improve data quality, performance, scalability, security, operational reliability, engineering standards, and technical knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Solid professional experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar technical role, including designing and maintaining production data solutions.
• Advanced Python skills and experience developing reliable, production-grade data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience designing and maintaining S3-based data platforms, data lakes, or similar cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Experience with Docker and containerised environments.
• Good understanding of APIs, distributed systems, cloud services, and modern data architecture.
• Experience making technical design decisions with consideration for scalability, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineers and stakeholders across different teams.
• Interest in sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and contributing to technical improvements.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or Data Products.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, SageMaker, IAM, and cloud networking.
• Knowledge of Data Lakes and Medallion Architecture, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Experience with Snowflake and modern analytics platforms.
• Experience with Docker orchestration and cloud deployment patterns.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment practices.
• Experience with data orchestration, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience with IoT, Edge AI, and connected devices.
• Experience supporting architectural decisions or mentoring other engineers.
