What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, and microservices-based applications.
• Develop automated test scripts and API test suites using Java, JavaScript, Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, and Postman.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Create and execute automation-focused test plans covering functional, regression, integration, UAT, and end-to-end testing for GOV.UK digital services.
• Identify, document, investigate, and report defects while monitoring automation results and recurring failures.
• Collaborate in Scrum and Kanban teams, define test strategies, support quality improvement, and mentor junior testers where required.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience as a QA Automation Tester or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Java and JavaScript for test automation development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, and Cypress.
• Strong experience with REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent API testing tools.
• Proven experience designing and developing automation frameworks from scratch.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and contract testing, including API testing.
• Experience integrating automated tests into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI pipelines.
• Proficiency in Git and version control practices.
• Familiarity with React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for test validation, plus good knowledge of SQL and relational database testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills in Agile teams.
