Software Developer in Test (SDET) (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom; candidates should be within +/- 2 hours of the UK.

What you will do

• Drive quality from product conception through finished product within a full-stack product team.
• Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Apply and maintain automated testing processes and expand regression packs to sustain high automated test coverage.
• Identify, report, and help resolve defects with product team members.
• Contribute to architectural decisions from a testability perspective.
• Track quality metrics including defect densities and open defect counts, while keeping current with testing tools and strategies.

Requirements

• Experience working with Foreign Exchange systems.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with Playwright and programming skills in JavaScript.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with both white-box and black-box testing.
• Good spoken and written English.
• A keen eye for detail, commitment to excellence, personal honesty, and integrity.
• Understanding of how to effectively prompt and use AI tools for test planning, documentation, and analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience with FX, cash management, or interest rate financial systems.
• AWS and/or Azure experience, particularly with test environment provisioning or cloud-based test execution.
