Reliability Engineer (Investment Management)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid work with flexible in-office days

Base pay: $165,000–$250,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Lead engineering and operational support for critical research and production systems.
• Develop systems, services, tools, libraries, and automation-focused software.
• Improve software reliability across observability, operability, scalability, and availability.
• Apply rigorous change management and continuously improve tests and automated checks.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams on architecture, product design, reliability, performance, support issues, and tooling improvements.
• Operate and monitor a production-critical environment and participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of Reliability Engineering experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science or another highly technical or scientific discipline.
• Ability to program using structured and object-oriented approaches in one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java, C++, or Rust.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems, with a focus on continuous development and automation.
• Proven experience automating processes and applying algorithmic approaches to problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience with UNIX or Linux systems.
• Experience with distributed systems and low-latency applications.
• Experience with networking fundamentals.
• Experience working directly with external counterparties to resolve issues.
• Experience with Python.
