Mgr, Cloud Platform Engineering (OpenStack)

Location: Irvine, CA; 5 days on-site.

Base salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor the cloud team and contractors in planning and executing cloud operations.
• Design, deploy, operate, and optimize the OpenStack-based private cloud platform across virtualization, networking, compute, and storage.
• Oversee daily platform operations, including reliability, availability, performance, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and security.
• Manage public cloud infrastructure finances, including revenue forecasting, cost control, budgets, strategic investments, and P&L accountability.
• Collaborate with Hyundai AutoEver Korea and Hyundai Motor Company Korea on technical, architectural, operational, and standardization initiatives.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support, including P1/P2 incident management and emergency response, while aligning stakeholders in the U.S. and Korea.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 6 years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience covering networking, servers, storage, virtualization, security, monitoring, and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies and experience with cloud platforms such as OpenStack.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally and leading infrastructure integration projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational improvement.
• Motivation to lead public cloud operations and transition toward cloud-native technologies.
• Effective communication skills for working with global teams and customers.
• Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is required.
