US Drayage Accountant (Logistics)

Location: Remote; open to applicants based in the Philippines.

What you will do

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, create customer invoices, and monitor outstanding balances.
• Reconcile bank, credit-card, fuel-card, and vendor accounts.
• Record trucking and drayage expenses, including fuel, tolls, chassis fees, port charges, detention, demurrage, and repairs.
• Review carrier, owner-operator, and driver settlements and match bills with delivery documents, rate confirmations, and proof of delivery.
• Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks or other accounting systems and assist with weekly and monthly financial reporting.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, drivers, customers, and vendors to resolve billing discrepancies and support month-end closing.

Requirements

• At least one year of accounting or bookkeeping experience with a U.S. drayage, trucking, freight, or logistics company.
• Working knowledge of U.S. accounting and bookkeeping practices.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Dedicated computer and reliable internet connection.

Nice to have

• Experience with transportation management systems.
• Knowledge of port and container-related charges.
• Experience handling driver or owner-operator settlements.
• Familiarity with U.S. payroll, 1099 contractors, and basic compliance documentation.
