VFX Editor (Nuke Studio/Hiero)

Location: Hybrid in Bristol or London, United Kingdom. Existing right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Turn over new shots and keep edits, dailies, and templates current throughout the VFX pipeline.
• Coordinate shot flow between editorial, production, and the 2D team.
• Manage conforms, retimes, timelines, plates, elements, versioning, frame ranges, and handles in Nuke Studio and Hiero.
• Perform quality control to identify dead frames, compositing issues, and version mismatches before client delivery.
• Prepare plates and packages for external vendors and ensure client deliveries are accurate.
• Work to tight review and delivery deadlines while communicating clearly with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a VFX Editor or VFX Assistant Editor in a facility environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Nuke Studio and Hiero, including conforms, retimes, and timeline management.
• Solid understanding of the VFX pipeline, including plates, elements, versioning, frame ranges, and handles.
• Strong quality-control skills, including identifying dead frames, compositing issues, and version mismatches.
• Highly organised communication across production, editorial, and the 2D team.
• Ability to work to tight review and delivery deadlines.
• Experience with production tracking tools such as ShotGrid, Flow Production Tracking, or ftrack.
• Experience preparing plates and packages for external vendors.
• Familiarity with colour pipelines such as ACES and OCIO and with common delivery formats.
• Existing right to work in the UK.
