Senior Corporate Counsel APAC (Payments)

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements involving products, strategic partners, payment methods, technology providers, and card networks.
• Advise sales, product, and business teams on new products, services, partnerships, business models, launches, and geographical expansion.
• Support global expansion of markets, products including APMs, partners, and services, together with related regulatory matters.
• Provide practical advice on contractual, commercial, business, data security, privacy, payments, licensing, compliance, and financial crime requirements.
• Coordinate, manage, and validate advice from external counsel within budget.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in the UK, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, or another appropriate common law jurisdiction.
• Typically 5+ years of post-qualification experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience in commercial and corporate legal matters, including negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, transactional documents, technology and/or licence agreements, product support, risk management, and contract management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to the audience and avoid technical jargon.
• Ability to handle complex, confidential, and sensitive issues effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills.
• Effective team-building, coaching, and persuasion skills.
• Intermediate to advanced negotiation skills for complex commercial issues.
