Intermediate Network Systems Administrator (Linux)

Location: Onsite at an HPE office in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, or Spring, Texas, United States.

Salary: Annual base salary of USD 95,000–218,500 in Texas and Wisconsin; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on project objectives and guidelines.
• Write and execute portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation; identify and debug issues and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
• Communicate design status, project progress, and issue resolution with internal and external development partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• 2+ years of experience with network systems administration in a Linux environment.
• Experience using software systems design tools and languages, including Python, Shell Scripting, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
• Experience installing, updating, and monitoring Linux-based network systems.
• Experience designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
• Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, including test-plan execution, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language; ability to communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
