Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) Power Generation Hydro

Location: Hybrid in Auburn, Auberry, Chico, or Redding, California, United States; rotational assignments may also take place in Redding, Burney, Chico, Auburn, or Auberry, with temporary relocation between Hydro System offices.

Hourly rate: $48.15 for a bachelor's degree or $52.12 for a master's degree.

What you will do

• Complete an 18-month rotation across up to three Power Generation departments.
• Support engineering, operations and maintenance, and construction projects at generating facilities.
• Review engineering documents and drawings, and revise drawings as needed.
• Provide field construction support and perform design work.
• Collect quality-control documents and data.
• Work with Senior Engineer mentors and pursue successful program completion through a panel evaluation and Engineer-in-Training Certificate.

Requirements

• Receive or have received a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering only between June 2025 and December 2026.
• Present a valid Class C California Driver's License or higher by the first day of employment.

Nice to have

• Experience in utilities, drafting, project management, construction, or engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training certification.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and support team members.
• Initiative and flexibility when adapting to change.
• Strong customer and safety focus.
