Debt Collection Specialist (Fintech)

What you will do

• Plan recovery actions for outstanding payments and follow up with customers on delinquent accounts.
• Monitor non-performing loans and identify problematic accounts.
• Communicate with delinquent borrowers and establish effective payment plans.
• Advise customers on payment options, negotiate payoff deadlines, and keep conversations collection-driven.
• Document customer interactions accurately and build trust relationships with debtors where possible.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in microfinance banking, banking, or fintech operations, directly dealing with delinquent clients and other problem-solving situations.
• Experience in an outbound debt collections, outbound sales, or outbound customer service environment.
• Negotiation and persuasion skills, with good knowledge of collection processes and approaches.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
