Construction Manager, Senior (Electric Distribution)

Location: Hybrid, based in Sacramento, California, with work from a remote office and assigned locations in Rocklin or Sacramento based on business needs; approximately 50% travel with occasional overnight stays.

Salary: $105,000–$169,000 annually, plus eligibility for discretionary incentive compensation programs.

What you will do

• Oversee paving, road restoration, and underground electric distribution construction projects from scoping through completion.
• Identify contract-worthy projects, assess feasibility and site details, prepare job packages and construction estimates, and conduct job walks.
• Coordinate with construction crews, project inspectors, bidders, contractors, governing agencies, and internal and external clients.
• Manage project schedules, costs, resources, contingencies, communications, and work plans.
• Ensure projects meet company standards, engineering designs, regulatory requirements, permits, safety expectations, budget, scope, and schedule.
• Provide subject-matter expertise in underground project scoping, installation methods, field conditions, inspections, audits, estimates, and quality control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or Construction.
• Ability to travel approximately 50%, including occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to act as a subject-matter expert in construction operations and apply extensive knowledge of relevant concepts, principles, and practices.
• Ability to coordinate inspections and audits, maintain safety standards, and manage projects within cost, schedule, scope, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• 7 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or Construction.
• Experience in electric distribution.
• Working knowledge of project planning tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
• Experience in contract administration.
• Experience in project inspection and quality control.
• Experience in surface grading and paving.
